Awareness at the Source

After more than eleven years of action on the ground, and with 15 years training children, teenagers and adults, it was clear for Carla that it was a moral obligation to spread the actions, experiences and anecdotes lived in Bolivia to the Andorran future generations.
For this reason, Cooperand transmits values to the youth through various actions:

  • Awareness campaigns in different schools and associations in the country throughout the year.
  • Creation and coordination of awareness campaigns, charitable donations and promotion of the projects, which are deemed necessary, already implemented, or in progress.
  • Management and coordination of the yearly volunteers training campaign with the practical support to the volunteers who will travel to the different projects’ destinations.

Synthesis
The law 90/2010, of December 16 states about volunteering in Andorra:
This law aims at positioning the movement of volunteers to meet these challenges and turn them into opportunities for society and for each of its areas of activity, and promote citizens’ participation in the context of volunteering and the matters of general interest, in an explicit recognition of the right of citizens to engage and intervene with responsibility in public life, as one of the cornerstones of Andorran society and one of the basic principles of democracy.

A new impulse must be given to volunteering in order to find new ways and encourage the participation of people through new forms of relationship and the promotion of new social figures. There is a need for awareness and for the creation of a favourable climate both in public opinion and economic and social agents about the importance of volunteering and the need to promote it as a tool for improvement and growth. To achieve these objectives, this law creates the Andorran Volunteer Committee, the body for the promotion of counselling and consultation in the field of volunteering for the Public Administration and for all the citizens.
