General Objective

  • Our objective is to protect and assist the group of Latin American street children, mainly in Bolivia, where their situation is becoming increasingly critical and worrying. With a special emphasis on supporting their education and vocational training as well as on reintegrating them successfully into society once they reach legal age.

Specific Objectives

  • Helping the admission in specialized foster homes of these children and teenagers who live in the streets and are at risk of social exclusion.
  • Improving the situation of the children admitted by providing them with a proper nutrition, clothing, school supplies, sports and audio-visual materials, pharmacological products, hygiene and leisure activities.
  • Getting involved in the different stages of the educational training of the boys and girls admitted in the foster homes.
  • Creating and improving leisure activities for the children in the foster homes, organizing trips with them, taking them to the movies, sports facilities, amusement parks, etc.
  • Helping boost and improve the vocational training offered to these young people as an essential tool to support their reintegration into society.
  • Helping the youth to search and select job offers in the market that help them to become independent and reach successful reintegration.
  • Encouraging the design, development and implementation of projects that increase the self-sufficiency of the foster homes in terms of resources.
  • Improving the human resources available in each foster home through training and advising.
  • Increasing the number of human resources available in the foster homes by encouraging active volunteering as we have been doing with dynamism.
  • Restoring and strengthening the affective bonds of the boys and girls newly admitted to the homes through our initiative “Sponsors' Chain”.
  • Raising social awareness in Andorra -the country where Cooperand was founded- about the situation and the hardships endured by street children in the Third World countries of Latin America.
  • Raising awareness both on a public and private level in Andorra about the benefits generated by a commitment to providing assistance.
  • Raising awareness about the benefits of taking action, and highlighting the risks derived from a lack of action through the organization of seminars, symposia, courses, events, etc.
  • Promoting, creating, developing, managing, and coordinating studies, research, documentation and databases, which support viable aid projects.
  • Helping promote and develop proposals addressing and consolidating a legal framework in support of the rights of street children.
  • Promoting the development of new technological tools in the training programs to help improve the job opportunities of these young people.
  • Promoting, creating, developing, managing and maintaining the creation of a new area of vocational training, Developers of Computer Solutions.
